Pittsburgh Milliones student Aisha Hughes Appointed to Mayoral Youth Council

In a surprise announcement today, Principal Sito Narcisse told students, faculty, staff and partners of the Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12, University Preparatory School that ninth grade student Aisha Hughes will be appointed to Mayor Luke Ravenstahl’s Youth Council. (more…)

Pittsburgh Brashear students host visit from Bolivian Youth Symposium delegates

On Thursday, April 23, Brashear High School Spanish 3 and Spanish-speaking ESL students hosted the delegates of the Bolivian Youth Symposium. The teens discussed a plethora of topics ranging from pollution and community violence to education and personal responsibility. (more…)

Pittsburgh Allegheny K-5 held its Second Annual Guest Reader Day on Friday, April 24, 2009

Pittsburgh Schaeffer Teachers Return to Volunteer

April is Volunteer Recognition Month and Pittsburgh Schaeffer Primary will celebrate two special volunteers at its morning Whale Done! Assembly. After more than a combined 76 years with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, retired teachers Cecilia Schwartz and Eleanor Heasley volunteer their time at the school helping students.

Pittsburgh Pioneer students attend Ability Pittsburgh at John Heinz History Center

On Thursday, April 16, students from Pittsburgh Pioneer attended “Ability Pittsburgh” at the John Heinz History Center. “Ability Pittsburgh” is an event for local students with disabilities.
