Pittsburgh Brashear 9th graders honor veterans for Memorial Day
In recognition of the sacrifices made by thousands of veterans 9th grade students from Pittsburgh Brashear High School helped to spruce up local war memorials for Memorial Day ceremonies in the Overbrook, Knoxville and Southside neighborhoods. The service project was conducted as part of the 9th Grade Nation “Civics: Be the Change!,” a rigorous project-based, activity-oriented course designed to bring civics alive and make it more relevant for students.
