Tuesday, October 16th, 2012

This morning Pittsburgh Steelers free safety Ryan Clark made a visit to  Pittsburgh Allegheny 6-8,  to congratulate students on making a commitment to eating right and getting at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. During the school-wide assembly, Clark lead students through a series of exercises and then answered their questions about physical fitness and healthy eating.

A youth-led program, Fuel Up to Play 60 empowers students to make changes at school that will help them get active and play for 60 minutes daily and fuel up with nutrient-rich foods missing from their diets – like low-fat and fat-free dairy foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein foods.

The National Football League and National Dairy Council are committed to making health and wellness a nationwide priority through Fuel Up to Play 60. The program is sponsored locally by Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, a regional affiliate of National Dairy Council. Learn more at www.FuelUpToPlay60.com or www.FuelUpToPlay60mediaresources.com.
