Pittsburgh Colfax students campaign to Strike Out Cancer

Tuesday, November 27th, 2012

Pittsburgh Colfax K-8 students are  raising money and awareness about cancer, and they need your help to reach their goal.  So far, student have collected $2,000 for the Strike Out Cancer Campaign. It is a campaign that supports 7th grader Will Templin’s mother Dale, who was diagnosed with stage IV colon and liver cancer back in August.  Since then, she has had surgery to remove the cancer in her liver and colon and is now receiving chemotherapy to get rid of any cancer that is left in her blood.

Will and his friends decided to hold a fundraiser to honor his mother.  Their goal is to raise $5,000.00—half of which will be donated to  EECM Hunger Programs(Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels and the Soup Kitchen) and the other half will be donated to two local baseball leagues (Squirrel Hill and 14th Ward).  The money raised would go to help keep these programs strong.

Students and teachers at Pittsburgh Colfax have gotten behind this cause and would like you to team up with them to Strike Out Cancer.  You can participate by donating as little as a dollar. They only have six more days to raise money, so please spread the word.
