Current Students Can Now Access Transcripts Online with New Docufide Service

April 7, 2012 – Docufide provides Pittsburgh Public Schools students an easy way to access, review, and mail transcripts to post-secondary institutions and employers to expedite the application process. This secure service is provided through Docufide, an online tool offered through a partnership with www.Parchment.com.

Current high school students can register online and request transcripts for colleges and universities, athletic organizations, scholarship funds, future employers or any other organization requiring verification of your transcripts.

Once completed, students can request transcripts from the registrar and have the assurance of delivery to all requested destinations.

Pittsburgh Brashear Celebrates Milestone Beyond High School Graduation

May 2, 2012 – Pittsburgh Brashear teachers and staff came together to celebrate the plans of 200 soon-to-be Brashear graduates to continue their education beyond high school with the school’s first ever Career and College Declaration Day. Pittsburgh Brashear’s commencement ceremony is June 9^th, but on May 2^nd, future graduates, with a plan to continue their education, announced their plans for this fall to an audience of their peers, teachers and parents. Students declared the more than 30 colleges, universities, and trade and technical schools that they will attend after high school graduation. The program additionally recognized those students who will join the armed forces after graduation.

The class is part of the 100^th class to graduate from the Pittsburgh Public Schools and among the first to have the opportunity to receive up to $40,000 in scholarship money from the Pittsburgh Promise^®. Executive Director of The Pittsburgh Promise Saleem Ghubril was on hand to deliver words of encouragement to the students. The event was also used to inspire current 9^th grade students, at both Pittsburgh Brashear and Langley High Schools, to keep their eyes on the prize of graduating with a plan for education after high school. Pittsburgh Langley will close at the end of the 2011-12 school year, sending current send to Pittsburgh Brashear next fall. This event is one of many activities school staff have planned to ease that transition.

Pittsburgh Langley Students and Staff Raise $1001.00 for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

May 3, 2012 – Students and staff of Pittsburgh Langley High School raised $1,001.00 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as part of the organization’s “Pennies for Patients Campaign.” Led by the school’s National Honor Society, students and staff donated funds for a chance to wear their PJs to school on Pajama Day. Students also held Homeroom Money Wars and sold root beer floats during the second semester all for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
