Pittsburgh Rooney ALA student wins essay contest

Congratulations to Pittsburgh Rooney student Michele Travis for winning the Richard S. Caliguiri Memorial  Say No to Drugs, Alcohol & Violence essay contest. Michele was honored at the Lamont restuarant along with five Pittsburgh Rooney runner-ups: Victoria Dvorak, Richard Bernardi, Tylynn Terry, Tyreek White, and Alyssa Andreen.

Art Contest for students in grades 9-12 announced by Allegheny County Immunization Coalition

The “Community Immunity” Art contest sponsored by the Allegheny County Immunization Coalition offers finalists an exhibition at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from December 4 to 10. The winners will be announced on the final day of the show, and prizes will include scholarships to the Art Institute and a cash prize for top place. Entries are due November 12, 2009.

National City African-American History Contest
