Pittsburgh Pioneer Dedication to Special Education Continues with Creation of Sensory Garden

With the dedication of its new Sensory Garden at Pittsburgh Pioneer, the school will continue its celebration of 50 years of unwavering commitment to the education of children with disabilities.  Principal Sylbia Kunst will be joined by MTR Landscape Architects and Superintendent Mark Roosevelt for the dedication to be held on June 15, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Pioneer, located at 775 Dunster Street Pittsburgh 15226. Pittsburgh Schiller Goes Green with Trees

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Group in collaboration with the Brickman Group planted bushes and trees outside of Pittsburgh Schiller. The landscaping enhancement adds new green space and a seating area for the students to connect with nature and their surrounding environment. (more…)

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy to Add Greenery to the Grounds of all Pittsburgh Public Schools

Students of Pittsburgh Public Schools will enjoy greener school grounds and will have more opportunities to interact with nature through a new School Grounds Greening Initiative, to be implemented by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC) through a $1.5 million grant from the Grable Foundation.
